Review:

Malayalam movie lovers can never ever forget the classic movie in malayalam directed by fazil in 1993 , Manichitrathazhu .  One of the finest and solid script on which a malayalam film was ever made was presented by Mashu muttom for the movie. Mohan lal who played the lead role in the movie as a Psychiatrist Dr. Sunny Joseph conquered the hearts of millions of viewers through his innocent , naughty character.

Once again Mohan Lal is back as Dr.Sunny joseph through his new movie Geetanjali directed by legendary film maker Priyadarshan. This time priyadarshan has touted away from hsi favourite genre comedy and has adapted an horror  theme. The expectations were always high whenever a movie is announced by lal priyadrashan team and this time too i had great expectations. The movie began with Anjali jacob and Anoop as love birds and they moving into Anjalis house as she her mom was ill. Subsequently it is revealed that she had a twin , Geetha and she was killed in an Accident. Anjali hallucinates about the presence of Geetha in her mansion and Anoop seeks the help of Dr.Sunny Joseph to solve the mystery.

The theme is a little complex but simple and elegant. The main flaw which i found in this movie was that Dr. Sunny Joseph had nothing to do in this particular scenario. The movie is said to be a direct adaptation from Tamil movie charulatha which was later dubbed to malayalam. So it was easy for the viewers to predict the climax before the interval itself. Innocent tried hard to make the viewers laugh in the first half and i must say he has succeeded to an extend. Siddique had a major role to play and delieverd to his best. The movie could not stand near Manichitrathazhu through any factors. One of the great positives of the movie is its camera work, i must say simply brilliant. You get dissolved into the screens through excellent camera work. Priyadarshan has captured beautiful screens in his songs as usual providing the viewers with a great visual bonanza. Songs and bgm was good and the horror scenes though it reinds you of conjuring needs appreciation as priyan has torched a way for horror malayalam movies from white saree era to the modern era.Keerthi suresh has grown upto the expectations through her performance in the climax scenes. We can now expect a new heroine who should be with us for long. Mohan lal through whome movie was promoted had really nothing to do in the movie and what ever he did i never felt a naturality or eaziness in his performance this time. Better luck next time Mohan lal.

Rating the movie would be a difficult task i  would just say that movie is a just one time watch.
